Cheryl Lafleur, Principal
Cheryl Lafleur has been in education seventeen years. She received her bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Elementary Education as well as her master's degree in Educational Leadership and Cultural Studies from the University of Houston. She began her teaching career in Aldine I.S.D. in 1993 and was assigned to teach second grade at Goodman Elementary. After teaching second grade for half a year, Mrs. Lafleur was asked to teach fourth grade at Goodman Elementary. She was then moved to the position of fourth grade skills specialist in 1997. After serving as skills specialist for two years, she was offered the position of assistant principal (Instructional Staffing Unit). Mrs. Lafleur was named assistant principal at Goodman Elementary in 2001. Mrs. Lafleur's educational experience have all been in the Aldine I.S.D.
Frances Schaper, Assistant Principal
Frances Schaper has been in education for 30 years, 27 of those years have been in Aldine. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota at Mankato. In 2007, she received her master’s degree in educational leadership from Sam Houston State University. Ms. Schaper began her teaching career in HISD and transferred to Aldine ISD in 1989. She has taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade and 4th grade at Conley Elementary and at Gray Elementary. After fifteen years as a classroom teacher, Ms. Schaper moved into the language arts skills specialist position at Gray Elementary. After serving as a skills specialist, she moved into the testing coordinator position at Harris Academy. Ms. Schaper was named assistant principal at Calvert Elementary in 2008. She served 2 years as an assistant principal at Calvert Elementary, continued as an assistant principal at Bussey Elementary for 4 years, then returned to Calvert in 2014.
Diana Muniz, Assistant Principal
Diana Borza-Muniz was named assistant principal of Calvert Elementary in July 2015. She is truly proud of her Aldine roots. Ms. Borza-Muniz graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1998 and later received her bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2003 from University of Houston. In 2014, she earned her master’s degree in educational leadership from Sam Houston State University. Ms. Borza-Muniz began her teaching career as a fourth grade teacher at Orange Grove Elementary and transferred to Bussey Elementary in 2012 as language arts interventionist and skills specialist. Ms. Borza-Muniz has proudly spent all of her career in education with Aldine ISD.
Dontee Lewis, Assistant Principal
Dontee Lewis was named assistant principal of Calvert Elementary in May 2015. She graduated from Willowridge High School in Fort Bend ISD in 1996 and received a B. A. from the University of Houston in 2000. In 2007, Lewis earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and in 2012, she earned a Ed.D in Organizational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Dr. Lewis has been in education for 16 years. She taught first through fifth grade for 9 years and was then promoted to a magnet coordinator and assistant principal, all in Houston ISD. This is her first year in Aldine ISD and she is looking forward to a being a part of the Aldine family.
